Background: Employer brought action seeking injunctive relief as against former employee, and alleging misappropriation of trade secrets. Employee filed counterclaims asserting violation of wage payment collection law and breach of contract. The preliminary injunction was granted, and later the order was affirmed on appeal. Employer added claims of defamation and commercial disparagement, and employee amended counterclaims to add defamation and other tort claims against employer and another employing entity affiliated with employer.
