Sen. Dayton using position to help lawmakers snoop private records

Given the Utah Legislature's tendency to interfere with the affairs of cities and towns, courts, schools and any other entity lawmakers want to bend to their will, it was just a matter of time before they gave themselves license to pry into your private affairs.

An Orwellian piece of legislation sponsored by Sen. Margaret Dayton, R-Orem, would give legislators the authority to examine records protected from public scrutiny by state law, including trade secrets, questions and answers for government license examinations, and competitive bids or grant applications.
